9/26/2021 0 Comments PrymaFit is Back - In Full EffectFor the past year and a half, I’ve been markedly absent from social media. This isn’t outside of the norm for me. But during these absences from social media platforms such as twitter and instagram, I usually maintain my presence here on my blog with some regularity. However, I did things a little differently this time because my life became a little different this time around. But not to worry - I’m back now and I’ve got tons of new content to make up for my hiatus.
I’ll start from the beginning. Sort of. But first I’ll cut to the chase - I’ve been dealing with a vestibular condition for the past few years or so. And from what they say, it was probably longer. I just didn’t notice the symptoms. Even though I’ve been an athlete for my entire life, intermittently, I’ve always dealt with certain ailments since I was a small child. For the most part, they’re unavoidable, as I inherited them from my mother. These problems are chronic allergies, sinus problems, and migraines. Throughout the years I’ve always dealt with ear infections and the problems that repeated trauma to the inner ear can cause. But because I was a kid I had no idea how serious the inner ear was. Not even as a teenager. And I didn’t start doing the math on things like fluid in the inner ear, vestibular migraines, balance problems, etc. Hearing loss? Yeah right! I’m not even 30 yet. Just turn the volume up. Needless to say, all of these things coalesced into a perfect storm. I ended up losing a little bit of my hearing a few years ago after one too many loud noises. This prompted me to actually go to the doctor in a truly proactive manner. And the rest is history. I began to understand what was going on, and how my chronic allergies and sinuses would act as a constant trigger. I had to approach my lifestyle - including my training - in a holistic way that wasn’t so primal to me. I had to commit to taking daily allergy and sinus medication, consider medications for vertigo, pay special attention to training the vestibular system (okay that’s not so bad). At first it felt like I was being spayed and neutered. In two ways. Initially, I felt like nature had spayed me. Genetic and environmental factors that had wreaked havoc on me as a child had somehow come back decades later to kick my ass. I thought I would never do freerunning or parkour again. Tricking? Acrobatics? Forget it. I even doubted being able to do martial arts again. It took about a year for me to gain the confidence to fully test my balance again. I literally spent a year sticking to high rep basics, weighted basics, and things that would not cause too much strain and trigger vertigo or worse. A full year before I was back repping out handstand pushups, pistols, planche holds. After I reached that goal, I got back into movement. But I had to do it my way. I had to relearn how to hop, skip, jump, run. I drilled basic strikes, grapples and traps religiously. It wasn’t until about a year ago that I began going on trail runs and freeruns again. But these are still more careful than anything I’ve ever done before. I still have to find my natural balance. I’m still drilling basic and intermediate tumbling skills. And to be honest, these flips and maneuvers will probably never look like they used to or even anything you might be used to. Because I have to find my balance. And that’s what this time - especially this year - has been about, in every way. Finding my balance. And this is the final piece of that balance. Because it is one of the most important. Don’t get me wrong. I love having clients, in person or with online coaching. But I started this blog for a reason. And that reason was to make the knowledge of strength and conditioning necessary to lead a holistically healthy lifestyle accessible to everyone. Without any catches. And without any mystification. Now, with this newfound appreciation for movement fundamentals and what they really are. And with this new outlook on what functionality really is, how truly individual it is, and how it relates to adaptability, I’m more excited than ever to continue this endeavour with you all. I have tons of new content being dropped as we speak and some really big challenges and programs to drop throughout the next few months. Stay tuned. Stay Prymal, Shredded Shaman

This article and program template is actually long overdue. I can’t believe that after all this time and all these articles I haven’t done a single template inspired by Hollywood veteran Chris Evans. He’s an absolute unit in the industry. Playing multiple superheroes from several different properties, as well as dominating the RomCom and Romantic genre for almost a decade, he’s definitely earned some legend status. Weighing in at about 6ft and 190-195lbs, he’s one of those actors who’s always in shape and constantly adapting to meet the requirements of his role. In this article, we’ll take a look at his training and preparation for the role of Captain America in the MCU, a role which he has come to completely own over the past decade.

With the premiere of Infinity War and Black Panther right around the corner, I wanted to share one of my favorite workouts based on one of my top five favorite super heroes. Black Panther is the epitome of cool. From his wealth, to his power, to his abilities. As well as most of his comics, though there are a few standouts. I’m very eager to share this with you all. A full body program that leaves nothing to be desired and asks everything of you.
It’s been a week and as promised, I delivered an entire Justice League workout series. It wasn’t easy. But it was fun and I hope it will be for you too. Below I have a little outline and quick guide to the entire series. I’ll always do that for series like this to make it easier for you to navigate.
Next up in the Endgame Training Series is the Mad Titan himself, Thanos. Played by none other than the severely underrated Josh Brolin. Brolin actually didn’t have to get in shape to play Thanos. If we’re being all technical. He actually got in shape to star opposite the always in shape Ryan Reynolds in the second installment of the Deadpool franchise. In this article we’ll take a look at Josh Brolin’s training history and what it took to get in shape for the role of Cable.
